Pastor Mike continues his teaching in Ecclesiastes 3:11. What shall a man give for his soul? We are reminded to put God first in our lives. We are all created with a God shaped void that can only be filled with the Holy Spirit. Nothing of this world can ever satisfy the deep longings within our souls. Without God in our lives we are all spiritually void and empty. We were created in God's image and we are his people. We were made to have fellowship with the Lord. By accepting Jesus Christ into our lives, our sins are forgiven and we'll have everlasting life.

At the end of King Solomon’s life, he became very bitter, cynical and without purpose as he turned away from God. This important study in Ecclesiastes and the life lessons of Solomon are an example to us all. Having the greatest wisdom, wealth and power in the world did not make Solomon happy or fulfilled in his life. Nothing of this world can ever satisfy the deep longings within our souls. Only Jesus Christ can completely satisfy this spiritual void inside us all.

Last week Pastor Mike gave us an introduction to Ecclesiastes and this week we’re wading right in as he opens Ecclesiastes 1:1-17. Life without Christ can be, and usually is, an empty, purposeless life. In these first 17 verses of Ecclesiastes we find that Solomon has come to that conclusion, a conclusion from which you, with the love and purpose of Christ in your life, are free.
