Welcome, This is podcast 119 and the 89th as a city on a hill church. We're glad you're here.
Pastor Mike continues his teaching in Ecclesiastes, chapter 8.
Some of life's greatest lessons are those written by King Solomon. God bestowed upon this king the gift of the greatest wisdom of all mankind. Solomon wrote the book of Proverbs and the book of Ecclesiastes. One book is the book of knowledge, the other, wisdom. There is a vast difference between them. Reading a chapter of Psalms everyday will give us great wisdom. In Ecclesiastes, Solomon's quest for knowledge and understanding of all things he writes how he squandered his gift of wisdom as he turned away from God, pursuing all the things that our Lord forbid him from seeking. Without the grace of God to protect him, Solomon became a miserable, jaded, bitter, cynical, unhappy person. The quest for wealth and power corrupted him. We know that wealth, power and material things can never bring us true lasting happiness. We must fill the void in our hearts and feed our spirit every day with the (living waters of the) word of God.
